Daniel A. Olson is a criminal justice instructor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He received his B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University, and he received his J.D. from the Thomas Cooley Law School. After graduating from law school, Daniel served as an active duty Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force for over twenty years. His operational experience includes tours as a deployed Staff Judge Advocate, state-side Staff Judge Advocate, Medical Law Consultant, and Chief of the Air Force Medical Law Field Support Center. Before his retirement, he also served as Deputy Department Head, Department Head, and Assistant Professor of Law at the Air Force Academy. His teaching and research interests focus on legal issues impacting law enforcement and homeland security professionals. He currently teaches courses in Cyber Law, Cyber Crime, and Critical Incident Management.
