Julian Kent leads the Drone Autonomy team at Auterion, focusing on improving safety, reducing operator load and opening new business verticals through the use of next-generation sensing and path planning. He brings a wealth of experience to the drone industry from 3 sides: from the hobby space 18 years flying RC planes and racing drones and developing tournament-winning Robocode AIs, from academia an MSc. Eng. in robotic mapping, and from industry 7 years of embedded software and computer vision development. Auterion provides a complete ecosystem around an enterprise stabilized and hardened version of PX4, the Open Source drone operating system. In Auterion, Julian's Autonomy team both provides contributions to the PX4 community as well as integrates the components they build into turnkey products for Auterion customers.
