Kendrick O. Faison is the President/CEO of SpatialGIS, a geospatial consulting services firm located in Baltimore, MD, and Fayetteville, NC. SpatialGIS is one of the leading African American owned geospatial companies focus on providing next-generation geospatial services. Mr. Faison is a licensed FAA Part 107 Remote UAS Pilot with a focus on construction, emergency management and advance drone data analytics. He has served in many capacities managing local, state, and federal GIS programs. Mr. Faison started his GIS career at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) as an Imagery Analyst. He later moved over to the National Security Agency (NSA), supporting Booz Allen Hamilton. In 2007, Mr. Faison managed the GIS Office for the City of Laurel, where he stood up the first enterprise GIS system for the city. He would get his introduction into emergency management working for the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office for Emergency Management as the GIS/IT Manager. Mr. Faison would then go on to work for Esi Acquisitions, Inc, Creators of “WebEOC” and serve as Federal Regional Manager. Before starting SpatialGIS, Kendrick served as the National Geospatial-Intelligence Lead for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where he served as the GIS lead during Hurricane Sandy. In 2018, SpatialGIS became a fully certified Private Consulting Firm with the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation Aviation Department. SpatialGIS started a corporate relationship with the North Carolina Drone Summit and Flight Expo as co-sponsor of the STEM Tour. In 2019, SpatialGIS teamed with Michael Baker in a award of a nationwide drone contract. Mr. Faison and SpatialGIS are founding members of the NC AUVSI Chapter. Mr. Faison is adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus in the Department of Homeland Security. He serves on the Anne Arundel Planning Advisory Board appointed by Anne Arundel County Executive Stuart Pittman. He has served in many leadership capacities at Fayetteville State University; Student Government Association President, 1st Vice President of the Fayetteville State National Alumni Association, Board of Trustee Member and Founding President of the Washington DC HBCU Alumni Alliance. Mr. Faison holds two Bachelor’s Degrees: Bachelors of Arts in History and Bachelors of Arts in Geography from Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and a Masters of Geosciences from Murray State University, Murray Kentucky. In 2021, Mr. Faison will begin his Ph.D. in Geography pursuit at West Virginia University.
